The End

No, not of this electronic rag, but one of my favorite blogs, Greasy Skillet. Dave Elfving is well-read. He wrote provocative and sometimes silly pieces on his site. His new entries will be missed. My favorite post, Fat Elvis. New postings to the Skillet will be sorely missed.

Ladies and Gentlmen, Start Your Peddling

Wouldn't a Big Wheel contest be fun? I think so. Every few months for the past few years, believe it or not, I've Googled the phrase "adult big wheel". Finally, it is here. Big Wheels for adults are finally here. And, what a selection! So, if you're in Columbus and want to start a Rally of our own, let me know in the comments. We can order 'em and when the weather gets nice, let 'em rip.

They sell ones for toddlers too, so it could be a family event. Depicted is my favorite Big Wheel.

Date night and the snow

MapMilk, check, toilet paper, check ...

We've made the family decision that father daughter night is here to stay. At least until that scary age when she comes home and tells me ... gulp ... she's a vegetarian. I'll go through some necessary mourning, but if she'll have me, we'll still go out for dinner and age-appropriate activities. However, the forecast is calling for snow and that can cover up the swings at Big Park (last week in 20-something degree weather, we still went to Big Park). I guess it depends on when it starts. We will, as always, keep you posted. I might have to take one of her Christmas presents out early though if it snows enough.

Update
No problems. We made it to Wendy's and skipped directly to ice cream just as the first flakes hit the ground. A fun night.

ho, ho, ho ...

Well, after breakfast, we went to OSU's tree sale and a guy just walked me up to a perfect tree. Couldn't resist. A gifted salesman. He even shook my hand when the deal was sealed. Nice to see someone so perfectly suited to his (albeit temporary) vocation.

We drove it home, hacked off a chunk of the trunk, put it in the stand on top of the table where cats nor kid can tackle it and watered it. Instant humidifier.

Then Frankie removed every stitch of clothing from her body to celebrate.

Then we coaxed her to get dressed, shopped for groceries, she napped, we went to a free showing of The Polar Express at SouthCampus Drexel, Ugly Toona Saloona for dinner, an ice cream a bath and bed.

Phew, a bit too much for us all, but fun.
